A bit of History

In 1948 the company was founded as "Narberth Hoagie" by John J. Cappelli who expanded his hoagie shop by providing delivery of hoagies and sandwiches to nearby construction and industrial sites.  Later, his brother Nick joined him and together unfolded a full time mobile catering company serving the construction, industrial and auto trades, better known as "Suburban Lunch" located in Havertown, PA for over 41 years.

The company expanded through the 50's and 60's into the premier mobile catering fleet in the Delaware Valley.  As they continued to progress, the need to rename the company was inevitable.  Suburban Lunch became Suburban Food Service, Inc., which better described the operation.  Sandwiches along with hot and cold entrees are produced fresh daily at our commissary; our kitchen is inspected routinely by several health authorities.

What's Happening Today

Suburban Food Service is located in Glen Mills (Concordville, PA) and continues to maintain a fleet of mobile food trucks for dependable food service to any construction site or industrial business.  We have now expanded our catering services by Pronto Catering to include private parties and corporate functions, added a new division to delight our friends who would like to make wine at home and we've increased our distribution of freshly made sandwiches to cafes and vending all over the region.

We are expanding!  Suburban Food Service is a member of the Philadelphia Mobile Food Association (PMFA) and the Convenience Caterers and Food Manufacturers Association (CCFMA.) Our trademark dependable service along with great product selection and reasonable prices remain the same, considered the keys to our success since 1948.
